Police called off the pursuit and the stolen car then collided head-on into the teenager’s Renault Clio at 7.30pm on Monday, Nine News reported.

The group of thugs then bashed the 18-year-old and stole her car before abandoning it a short time later.

Nelly Rangiuira said the men tried to steal his ute, with one yelling to the other to ‘grab the gun’, The Herald Sun reported.

‘They got out of their car that smashed into the black car in front of me and tried to take my car,’ Mr Rangiuira said.

The trio, one of whom has a neck tattoo, were last seen in a gold Volkswagen Golf and are believed to be suffering visible injuries from the crash.

A manhunt is underway, and the 35-year-old woman is assisting police with their enquiries but has not been charged.

Ambulance Victoria confirmed the teenage girl was rushed to Frankston Hospital in a stable condition but suffering pain from leg and facial injuries.

The men abandoned the girl’s car in Frankston South with her pet dog in the backseat. The animal is safely in the care of police.

Witnesses said they knew something ‘wasn’t quite right’ when the speeding car didn’t bother to slow down for speed bumps.

‘As it drove past me, I noticed its boot was halfway up and it had flat tires,’ onlooker Cameron Page said.

Another bystander Mandy Gledhill said the car was running red lights, driving over the speed limit, had a blown-out front tyre and a smashed-up rear.
