Girl Scout sells 300 boxes in front of pot dispensary

Two unlikely allies are hoping to rack up big in San Diego: a local cannabis dispensary and a small girl from an area Girl Scout troop.

Urbn Leaf, a San Diego, California, marijuana dispensary, posted a photo on Saturday showing a Girl Scout in front of the store with her arms packed with cookies.

She covered her face with a pair of cookie shades.

‘Get some Girl Scout Cookies with your GSC today until 4pm! Have a friend that wants to #tagalong? Bring them with – shopping is more fun with friends anyways,’ posted the company.

According to the girl’s father, the young Scout has sold more than 300 boxes.

And while booth sales don’t start for another week, Girl Scouts San Diego detailed that individual members could sell from wagons with parent/guardian supervision.

‘So if that’s what they say they were doing … then they were right within the rules,’ the girl’s father to WKBW.

But the San Diego Girl Scout Facebook page shows that they often pair cookies with questionable items.

A ‘Cookies on Tap 2018’ event is listed as being the perfect way for adults to eat cookies and pair them with a complimentary beer.

This wouldn’t be the first time such a thing has happened as a Girl Scout in Colorado sold 100 boxes in two hours standing outside a San Francisco dispensary.

The move prompted Girl Scouts of America Colorado to release a statement condemning the selling.

‘If you are wondering, we don’t allow our Girl Scouts to sell cookies in front of marijuana shops or liquor stores/bars,’ the organization’s Colorado branch wrote.

But Kelly Parisi,  chief communications officer from Girl Scouts of the USA, detailed to the LA Times that each region makes ‘all decisions on how the cookie program is run. As always, our primary concern is the safety and well-being of the girls we serve.’

The popular treats started going on sale last month and will run up until April.
