Gisele Bundchen talks ‘feeling better at 40 than I felt at 30’… and taking care of her eyes

She is among the short list of beauties who have helped keep the ‘super’ in the ‘supermodel’ moniker that’s been used to describe the top catwalk queens over the last six decades.

And now, in the wake of her career turning more to the entrepreneurial side of the beauty business, Gisele Bündchen is opening up about getting older and how she puts in the hard work to live her best life at 40.

‘I feel better at 40 than I felt at 30, I can tell you that much,’ the Brazilian native declared on a Dior Digital Talk episode on YouTube this week.

40 is the new 30: Gisele Bündchen maintained she ‘feels better at 40 than I felt at 30’ during an episode of Dior Digital Talk this past week

Bündchen has been imploring the powers of yoga and Pilates to help keep her statuesque figure toned and her mindset at peak performance over the years.

She has also been a devout believer in the benefits of her transcendental mediation practice to exercise her inner being – her spirit if you will.

During her chat on Dior Digital Talk, the mother of two confessed she’s been much more aware of her eyes, and the power they wield, considering she’s a believer that ‘the eyes are the window [to] the soul.’

‘As I am now 40. I definitely sense that the eyes are something I really want to take care of; more now, that I am more aware of it than ever.’

Bündchen went on to share about how her outlook and approach to life, while facing challenges and setbacks, has changed over the last couple of decades.

‘I think the 40s are going to be awesome. The 20s were a little challenging, I’m not going to lie,’ she shared. ‘The 30s, I was getting a grip on stuff. Now the 40s, I’m like, “Let’s go!”‘

Bündchen and co-host Phillip Picardi referenced the heightened importance of eyes as a form of communication in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and face masks as a form of protection.

With the hardships of the coronavirus crisis over these past 15 months in mind, the longtime Victoria’s Secret Angel has found a silver lining amongst the chaos life can offer at times.

‘I think every situation that we go through brings an opportunity to adapt and learn something new,’ she said.

‘For me, I go the extra mile, the extra point of actually looking someone in the eyes. Just trying to send a positive vibration, a positive energy to the eyes because the eyes are very powerful. You look at someone’s eyes and you kind of see the life they went through.’

Bündchen often shares her exercise and meditation routines and philosophies on her social media platforms. And on Saturday she took to Instagram and shared some words of wisdom about the importance of mankind’s relationship with Mother Nature

‘Nature doesn’t judge. Nature doesn’t separate. Nature nurtures. She reminds us that every form of life is sacred, and has its own special role in creating balance, so that all of life can flourish,’ she captioned a photo of herself in a reflective moment by a small waterfall.

‘What creates imbalance in our world? Division. When man tries to divide or conquer nature, she is harmed and weakened. She can even die. The same is true for human beings,’ she added.

‘By paying close attention to nature, and mirroring her example, we can begin to create a more loving, supportive world where we can all thrive. The earth is our home, and the choices we make today and every day will create our future.’

The previous day she wrote about the benefits of transcendental meditation, along with a photo of herself in full zen mode while sitting in a sand dune.

‘Meditation has helped me find strength and balance during some of the most challenging periods in my life,’ she said.
