The mother of Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen has died following a battle with cancer, according to reports.
Vânia Nonnenmacher, 75, passed away at Hospital Moinhos de Vento in Porto Alegre Sunday. Brazilian outlet GZH was the first to report on her death.
Nonnenmacher was a retired banker who formerly worked at Banco do Brasil. She was of German descent and held Brazilian nationality.
The 75-year-old had six daughters with university professor Valdir Bündchen: Gisele, Patrícia, Rafaela, Raquel, Graziela and Gabriela.

The family was based in Horizontina, Rio Grande do Sul, where the former Victoria’s Secret Angel was born.

Bündchen has yet to issue a statement about the death of her mother, with whom she featured on the cover of Vogue Brasil in 2019.
She most recently posted a series of photos with Nonnenmacher in July 2022 to commemorate her 73rd birthday.
‘Happy birthday Mom! I am forever grateful for all that you have done and continue to do for us,’ the model wrote.

Bündchen and Brady share two children, 14-year-old Benjamin and 11-year-old Vivian.
They met on a blind date in 2006 and married three years later, forming a blended family with Brady’s son Jack.
Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, Bündchen indicated that she and her ex-husband have different parenting approaches, a point that occasionally causes tension.
‘Sometimes, I get pushback, especially because now they’re in two different homes and there are two different ways,’ the model explained.
‘But I feel like I owe it to my kids, because of what my mom taught me.’
