✔ Nivea Daily Essentials 2 in 1 Cleanser & Toner, £2.65. I’m passionate about cleansing well, and always make sure I have removed every last scrap of make-up. I’ve cleansed using Nivea for as long as I can remember.

Compact Duo, £16, joancollinsbeauty.com. This has a hydrating, anti-ageing powder, mirror and space for my Divine Lips lipstick in warm rose Marilyn. It is the perfect size for taking on holiday or for quick touch-ups while I’m out and about.

L’Oréal Elnett Satin Precious Oil Hairspray, £2.60. This gives me a finish that really holds and boasts argan oil, which is a bonus when my hair has been in the sun too long.

Avène Tinted Mineral Fluid SPF50, £17.50. I love this mineral sunscreen for the face: it’s great even for those with sensitivities and the tint is very subtle.

Super Facialist Pure Sensitive Micellar Cleansing Gel, £8.99. This travel cleanser works for the whole family as it’s fine for all skin types.

The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane, £5.50, cultbeauty.co.uk. A mega nourisher, this oil is what sun-parched skin needs to regain its dewy softness.

Rosie for Autograph Starstruck Lip & Cheek Colour in Pink Shine, £15, marksandspencer.com. I don’t wear much make-up on holiday, but this cream stick is gorgeous smoothed on to cheekbones, lips and even a teeny bit across lids to brighten eyes.

Garnier Ambre Solaire UV Water Transparent Protecting Spray SPF30, £8. Ambre Solaire sunscreens have been my go-to for years. This new formula feels ultra-light, non-sticky and hydrating.

The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Exfoliating Gel Body Scrub, £6, thebodyshop.com. I love this for ultra-smooth, head-to-toe softness. It leaves skin glowing!

✔ Georganics Oil Pulling Mouthwash, £6.90, georganics.co.uk. Every morning I ‘oil pull’, an Ayurvedic practice that involves swirling coconut or sesame oil around my mouth and through my teeth (a bit like using mouthwash) to help draw out toxins on my tongue, then spitting it out. I do it after tongue scraping and brushing my teeth while I’m in the shower. This product is one of my favourites and its all-natural blend of oils comes in a choice of breath-tingling choices such as peppermint and ginger, which work wonders.

Hurraw! Vata Lip Balm, £4.99, lovelula.com. This all-natural balm is based on the principles of my dosha [an Ayurvedic personality type]. The balm is made from nourishing sesame oil, cocoa butter and coconut oil, and infused with healing ashwagandha root. It has an almond scent with hints of cardamom and soothing rose oil, which makes applying lip balm throughout the day a great way to ground myself.

Burt’s Bees Glossy Lipstick in Nude Rain, £9.99, burtsbees.co.uk. I love the new glossy lipsticks from Burt’s Bees and this gorgeous nude really complements my skin tone. It’s a 100 per cent natural product, somewhere between a lipstick and a tinted lip gloss – I usually dab it on over lip balm for a subtle hint of colour, or build it up on clean lips for a more evening-worthy glossy look.

Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara, £5.99. I feel naked without mascara, so a waterproof one is an essential part of my holiday kit and here is one of the best.

Kiss My Face SPF 30 Face Factor Sunscreen, £15, amazon.co.uk. I’ve always been into suncare, but safe suncare – I want ingredients that aren’t too toxic. I also want a formula that isn’t too white or thick and this one is perfect.

Lucas’ Papaw Ointment, from £4.95, pawpawshop.co.uk. I’ve been obsessed with this for years and used to have it sent over from Australia. It’s not only great at keeping skin moist but its wound-healing properties mean it soothes sunburn, too.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream, £12.99. Thanks to its lovely light texture, this moisturiser is a great choice during hot weather when too much product on your face can feel heavy and greasy.

Jason Vitamin E 5,000 IU Pure Natural Skin Oil, £7.49, feelunique.com. I prefer oils to aftersun milks as they feel more natural and are more quickly absorbed into the skin. With this concentrated formulation, a little goes a long way.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Beach Mate Deep Treatment Conditioner, £4.99. My go-to for rehydrating my hair after too much sun, sea and sand – it gets rid of that straw-like texture fast.

Garnier BB Cream Original 5 in 1 Daily Moisturiser, £9.99. This will give you a great even complexion without making it appear like you’ve got tons of make-up on – in other words, the perfect holiday look.

CO Bigelow Rose Salve Lip Balm, £8.50, libertylondon.com. This gives a glossy finish to cheeks and lips, yet can be used to moisturise elbows and cuticles, too – a great all-round product.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Intensive Treatment, £17.50, lookfantastic.com. This is excellent, especially if you’re in the sun. It not only protects your hair but also makes it look awesome – as though you’ve just been in the sea.

Lancaster Tan Maximizer Soothing Moisturizer Repairing After Sun, £22, debenhams.com. A brilliant product for using after a day in the sun as its tan maximizer really helps prolong your colour. Plus its lightweight formula doesn’t clog up your skin or give you spots.

Maybelline Instant Anti Age Eraser Eye Concealer, £8.99. Handy to carry around with you, it’s natural and not too heavy.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in It’s Redding Men, £8.49. This is lightweight and will stay on the lips without needing too much retouching.

Boots Botanics Organic Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm, £8.99. Even when I’m on holiday I work hard at keeping my skin looking great and this deep cleanser is as good as any by premium brands such as Eve Lom or Crème de la Mer.

The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone, £5.80, theordinary.com. This serum is a great introduction to vitamin C, which revitalises and brightens the skin – it’s an integral part of my skincare.

Andalou Fruit Enzyme Mask, £9.99, hollandandbarrett.com. Organic and inexpensive, this wards off spot outbreaks.

Caviar Illumination Night Cream, £13.98, aldi.co.uk. I don’t often use a heavy night cream, but when I do I love using this one as I’m guaranteed to wake up to skin that feels plump and hydrated.

Trinny London Lip2Cheek in Pia, £25, trinnylondon.com. I adore multipurpose products, especially when it comes to packing. This cheerful pop of pink will bring a fresh flush to your face and lips.

Nivea Creme, £2.99. This is a great double-duty product as I use it to moisturise my face as well as my body. A little goes a long way and it smells great, too.

No7 Lift & Luminate skincare, from £18, boots.com. I’ve used No7 for years and I especially love this range for ageing skin – it really does help keep me looking younger.

Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in Pink Lane, £6.49. This lipstick isn’t just excellent value and in a super-flattering shade, but it is moisturising, too – so just the thing for sun-parched lips.

Ragdale Hall Spa Be Happy Refreshing Shower Burst, £6, marksandspencer.com. This makes my skin feel great and it smells lovely. People ask me all the time what scent I’m wearing and when I tell them it’s my shower gel they’re very surprised.

L’Oréal Elnett Satin Hairspray, £2.60. This is perfect for me – it keeps my hair in place but is easy to wash out at the end of the day and is a nice fine mist.

Clairol Nice N Easy Hair Colour, £6.49. My favourite. It doesn’t fade, covers all my grey and leaves my hair soft and shiny.

Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Shampoo, £14.95, lookfantastic.com. I’ve always loved Paul Mitchell’s range of hair products. They’re a little bit more expensive but they go a long way and nourish my hair without making it feel heavy.

Radox Muscle Soak Bath, £1. I use this every evening to soothe my muscles after a long day on my feet teaching or, if I’m away, walking around sightseeing.

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, £9, boots.com. This is absolutely the best cleanser and it’s backed by dermatologists. It’s great for holidays when you might be cleansing more often and it doesn’t dry out your skin.

Vichy Pureté Thermale Waterproof Eye Make-Up Remover, £12. I snorkel and swim a lot on my holidays and this makes sure I can get every bit of waterproof mascara off without rubbing hard.

Burt’s Bees Lip Balm in Red Dahlia, £5.99. This gives me moisture and a hint of colour that takes me from breakfast to dinner and I can reapply it all day long.

Simple Water Boost Hydrating Booster, £6.99. This is superb for your entire journey – on the plane, in hot or cold temperatures – any time your skin needs a hit of moisture.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Whipped Body Balm, £4.99. I love the fact that this is skin-quenching without leaving a greasy feeling – it makes it so easy to get dressed straight after moisturising. It works really well as an aftersun cream, too.

Pixi Glow Tonic, £10, marksandspencer.com. This is great for toning and exfoliating, especially when I’m using sun protection, which tends to make my skin break out if I don’t include this step. I always buy it in a travel size.

Avène Anti-ageing Sunscreen SPF50, £19. I like spending hours in the sun reading so the right protection is essential!

Carmex Classic Moisturising Lip Balm, £2.69. I’m obsessed with having smooth lips and this always does the trick.

Natural Health Harmony Shea Butter, £8.99, makeovercosmetics.co.uk. I use this all over my body as a moisturiser and an aftersun. It glides on easily and smells extra delicious.

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream, £3.99. I wash my hands a lot and like to keep them well moisturised afterwards.

3ina The Waterproof Definition Mascara, £10.95, 3ina.com. Great for when you’re on holiday in a hotter climate and for when you go for a dip in the pool.

Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream, £2.99. A multipurpose must-have for sunburn, redness, insect bites or any other skin blemishes! It is also water-repellent, so works well in hotter weather.

Glossier Cloud Paint, £15, glossier.com. Great for a little lip or cheek colour when you’re on holiday and wanting a more laid-back look.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF50+, £16.50, lookfantastic.com. A good sunscreen is important and, with a light tint, this is a great fix for holiday.

Ren Flash Defence Anti-Pollution Mist, £24, libertylondon.com. A spritz of this will give your skin an instant refresh and delivers a quick cool-down in hot weather.

Mavala nail cream, £21.50, johnlewis.com.  Nonie Crème (the nail technician behind Butter London Nails) taught me an invaluable trick years ago – smother either your fingers or your toenails with this, wipe off the excess then apply one coat of nail polish as haphazardly as you like. Allow to dry for two to three minutes, go to bed and in the morning it’ll look like you’ve had a professional manicure – all the all the polish falls off the cuticles, leaving nails beach ready for another day.

Epsom salts, £4.99, boots.com. Epsom salts are not only a brilliant exfoliant, they’re at the correct pH for the skin and make an amazing relaxing bath that helps balance fluid retention. I make a body rub with a 50/50 mix with any oil (my favourite is apricot). Massage over feet, elbows, knees until the salts start to dissolve and then jump in a warm bath. You will emerge with baby-soft feet that are ready for those sparkly summer slides.

Lancome Self-Tanning face gel, £26, boots.com. I don’t sunbathe – never have, never will! But summer whites do look better with a bit of colour and this is my go-to face self-tanner. It’s a gel so it doesn’t block your pores and will go under your day cream so you can apply in the morning and by lunchtime you look fresh and glowing.

Crest Whitening Strips, £12.74, caliwhite.co.uk. They really, really do work to get your teeth maybe one or two shades lighter and remove the slight yellowing we all get from a little coffee! And everyone knows a great smile looks even better on holiday.
