South Sydney confirmed they are interested in pursuing Queenslander Jai Arrow, as they look to replace prominent retirees Greg Inglis, John Sutton and Burgess.

His partner and last year’s Miss World Australia, Taylah Cannon, told her friends moving south to Sydney could be beneficial in her career as a model, The Daily Telegraph reported.

There are reportedly already six clubs keen to pay the prop between $850,000 and $900,000 per season for four years.

Arrow, who is from the Gold Coast, is testing the open market after he failed to meet the NRL’s November 1 deadline to re-sign with the club.

Rabbitohs general manager of football Shane Richardson confirmed the club has made their interest known.

‘The club has made an inquiry about Jai Arrow through his manager but that’s all we have done at this stage, as we have done with a whole range of different players,’ he said.

‘But we haven’t made an offer yet. Until we get a decision from the NRL we can’t really move on anything.’

The club are waiting to learn how much salary cap dispensation they can get following Burgess’ early retirement.

Richardson said he has not spoken with Arrow but has been in contact with his manager David Riolo about his availability from 2021.

Richardson added the conversation about Arrow was a ‘very limited inquiry’.

Riolo said: ‘Jai is a quality player and quality players are always going to attract a lot of interest in the market.’
