A youthful-looking woman claims she looks so young strangers are often ‘convinced’ she is her daughter’s sister.
Arianna Chamberlain, 30, who lives in Nevada, has received endless comments from strangers that have confused her mother, JoLee Barnes, 52, from California, for her sister.
At the age of 15, she went to Bali with her mother who would have been 36, where the stunning pair were bombarded with comments about being siblings.
‘Everyone was convinced we were sisters,’ Arianna recalled.

‘No one would believe me when we told them we were mother and daughter. Even as we have both gotten older, people still confuse us to be sisters.
‘When we go out to dinner together, there have been times when there have been a group of guys on a table next to us and they offer to pay for our dinner and take us dancing because they think we are sisters.
‘People always comment and say how amazing my mom looks for her age when we correct them.
‘I love that people compare us as sisters because I know that’s also how I am going to age, so I will look just as great when I am older.’
JoLee, who is over two decades older than Arianna, says it is flattering when people think that they are sisters.
She said: ‘People are always telling me that I must have great genes and ask me what my secret to looking young is.
‘I usually respond by telling them that joy, peace and nature help with ageing. And I also swear by rosehip oil which I apply to my face every single night.

‘My daughter and I both love to practice good self-care, and she had also forced a strict skincare regime on me which is really helpful too.
‘Arianna also managed to convince me to fly to Canada to get my eyebrows micro-bladed with her after she had found an amazing technician on social media.
‘I was nervous but it was really great. And having them done has actually been really convenient.’
JoLee who works in real estate, has always been into fashion and refers to clothing as an art form.
She says she loves to dress up and has also been adventurous with her hairstyles over the years.
JoLee, said: ‘We both love getting ready for events. We will spend all day getting ready together and feeling glamorous.
‘We always want to know what the other is wearing or doing with their hair. We have the best time.

‘When there is an opportunity for us to glam it up, it’s like we are stepping on a red carpet together.
‘I love my daughter’s style too. She keeps herself simple and classy. She always looks perfectly put together.
‘I would say that we are similar in the way that we both navigate towards earthy and neutral colours.’
JoLee revealed flattering compliments about her looking like her daughter’s sister increased as Arianna was getting older, but she remained protective of her.
She adds that Arianna’s friends also wanted to be friends with her.
JoLee said: ‘There was this fascination with ‘Ari’s mom.’ All of her friends also wanted to be friends with me.
‘I tried to give her some and back away slightly to let her shine.
‘To me, ageing is a gracious thing and I don’t mind passing the baton on to Arianna. I like to push her forward and take the back seat.
‘But she still wants me alongside her.

‘We are best friends. She is proud of her mom and I am proud of my daughter. She pushes me as a woman, and I loved that there has been a kind of role reversal.
‘I feel lucky that we have such a special relationship and to have a daughter who is such a delight.’
Arianna added her friends were obsessed with her mother all throughout her school years.
She claims that they would change the Fountains of Wayne lyrics to Stacy’s Mom to be about her mom.
She said: ‘They would sing ‘I’m in love with Ari’s mom’ instead of it staying ‘Stacy’s mom’ and talk about how attractive she was.

‘When I was growing up I was always trying to borrow my mom’s clothes because I loved her style. Even now I like to borrow her clothes and she loves wearing mine too.
‘My mom is a natural beauty. She has had no work done to keep her looking young.
‘Although I have recently taught her an amazing skincare routine to keep her looking even younger than she already looks.
‘She loves to keep up on her appearance, but likes to do most of her beauty treatments herself as she is quite particular.’
