Piers Morgan blasted Prince Harry as ‘shameful’ for his ‘betrayal of the Queen and the Royal Family’ in the Sussexes’ bombshell two-hour Oprah interview special last night.
He slammed the no-holes-barred tell-all as ‘destructive self-serving nonsense’ on Twitter – before dubbing it ‘bilge’ and a ‘two-hour trashathon’ in a Good Morning Britain rant.
In the two-hour bombshell Oprah special – which aired in the US overnight – Meghan Markle accused the Royal Family of racism, claiming they had ‘concerns’ about ‘how dark’ Archie’s skin would be before he was born.
Mr Morgan said Meghan ‘portraying the Royal Family as a bunch of racists’ is ‘the most incendiary charge I’ve seen in my career’.
The duchess did not reveal which royal family member had the conversation with the Duke of Sussex about Archie’s skin colour.
But she told Oprah it was ‘a pretty safe’ assumption to suggest that the royal family member was ‘concerned’ that Archie being ‘too brown’ was ‘a problem’.
Mr Morgan took to Twitter to blast the interview as a ‘disgraceful betrayal of the Queen and the Royal Family’.

Mr Morgan slammed the no-holes-barred interview as ‘destructive self-serving nonsense’ – before dubbing it ‘bilge’ and a ‘two-hour trashathon’ in a Good Morning Britain rant
He wrote: ‘I expect all this vile destructive self-serving nonsense from Meghan Markle – but for Harry to let her take down his family and the Monarchy like this is shameful.
‘Harry wants America and the rest of the world to hate his own family, hate the Monarchy and hate his country.
‘I suggest everyone waits for the victims of his wife’s rampage to have their say on her outlandish claims before they do so.
‘I wouldn’t believe Meghan Markle if she gave me a weather report.’
He then added: ‘Let’s be clear: Prince Harry and his wife just spent two hours trashing everything the Queen stands for and has worked so hard to maintain, whilst pretending to support her.
‘And they did it while her 99 year-old husband Philip is seriously ill in hospital.

‘It’s contemptible.’
The Duchess of Sussex described her ‘pain’ that officials had denied Archie the title of prince and accused Buckingham Palace of failing to protect him by denying him 24/7 security.
Meghan refused to say which royal had the conversation with Harry about Archie’s skin colour, claiming it would be ‘damaging’ to the person in her husband’s family who raised it.
Meghan Markle has told Oprah Winfrey that she was suicidal when she was part of the Royal Family living in the UK and told her husband: ‘I don’t want to be alive anymore’
She told Miss Winfrey that it was ‘a pretty safe’ assumption to suggest that the royal family member was ‘concerned’ that Archie being ‘too brown’ was ‘a problem’.
The Duchess of Sussex also revealed that life in the Firm left her feeling suicidal when she was pregnant and had warned Harry ‘I don’t want to be alive anymore’.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Mr Morgan continued his rant, saying: ‘I’m angry to the point of boiling over. I’m sickened by what I’ve just seen. This is a two hour trashathon of our monarchy and royal family,’ Piers fumed.
‘They trash everybody! They basically make out everybody in the royal family is a white supremacist. I just don’t think that’s acceptable.’
He added: ‘I could see the way it is already playing out in America and around the world.’
He called the interview ‘bilge’, asking co-host Susanna Reid if she feels genuine sympathy for the Sussexes.
The couple also chose to reveal that they are having a baby girl to the tens of millions of people watching the CBS show broadcast in the US.
The Queen is not believed to have watched the show, broadcast at 8pm Eastern Time in the US and 1am UK time, but will this morning be briefed by aides on the sensational claims made by her grandson and his wife that could badly damage the reputation of the Royal Family around the globe.
Meghan cited this event at the Royal Albert Hall in January 2019, claiming she was forced to go when struggling with her mental health
The Duchess of Sussex has told Oprah she ‘couldn’t be left alone’ and told her husband she ‘didn’t want to be alive anymore’ before claiming the Buckingham Palace HR department ignored her plea for help because she wasn’t a ‘paid employee’.
Describing how she considered ending her life believing it ‘was better for everyone’, Meghan said: ‘I knew that if I didn’t say it, that I would do it. I just didn’t want to be alive anymore. And that was a very clear and real and frightening constant thought. I remember how he just cradled me. I said that I needed to go somewhere to get help. I said that ‘I’ve never felt this way before, and I need to go somewhere’. And I was told that I couldn’t, that it wouldn’t be good for the institution’.
She said that after confiding in her husband, she was forced to go to the Royal Albert Hall for a charity event in January 2019, claiming photos from that night ‘haunt me’. She told Oprah she later reached out to one of the best friends of Diana, Princess of Wales, because she felt unsupported by the palace.
She said: ‘When I joined that family, that was the last time I saw my passport, my driving licence, my keys – all of that gets turned over’. Meghan said Harry had ‘saved my life’ by agreeing to move to Los Angeles.
Meghan also sensationally claimed that a relative of Harry asked him ‘how dark’ their unborn child would be with the Duchess claiming Archie being mixed-race was a ‘problem’ for the royals after Oprah asked her if they were worried their son would be ‘too brown’.
The former Suits star said she would not name the person because it would be ‘too damaging’ for them. But she confirmed that the duke was asked the question – ‘how dark his skin might be when he’s born’ – ‘by family’. She then said Archie may have been denied the title of prince because he is mixed-race, but has never been told. Harry was also asked to identify the culprit but said he didn’t feel ‘comfortable’ discussing it.
Meghan Markle has spoken of ‘The Firm’ – a mafia-like term used to describe the Royal Family – had tried to smear and silence her
In the most extraordinary royal interview since Diana spoke to the BBC’s Martin Bashir in 1995, Meghan said her sister-in-law Kate made her cry in a row over dresses for the flowergirls, including Princess Charlotte, before her Windsor wedding. She said: ‘She (Kate) was upset about something, but she owned it, and she apologised. And she brought me flowers’.
Harry also laid into his own family, claiming their ‘lack of support and understanding’, the couple’s mental health problems and fears ‘history repeating itself’ with Meghan like his mother Diana, who died in 1997.
Harry also said he felt ‘very let down’ by his father Prince Charles, accusing him of refusing to take his calls and and then ‘cut him off’ financially when they emigrated.
He said: ‘My father and brother. They’re both trapped’ and added that his mother Diana would be ‘angry and sad’ that he felt he had to leave the royal family, but ‘she saw it coming’. Harry said: ‘All she’d ever want for us is to be happy’, adding that his wife had ‘saved me’, declaring: ‘I myself was trapped, as well. I didn’t see a way out’.
