Liam Kelly has become Rangers’ fourth permanent signing of the summer as Philippe Clement’s rebuild gathers pace.
The 28-year-old has returned to his first club on a two-year deal after leaving Motherwell at the end of last season.
Kelly, who was part of Scotland’s Euro 2024 squad in Germany, came through Rangers’ academy and had spells with Livingston and Queens Park Rangers before spending three years at Fir Park.
‘When I left, I probably never thought I would be back, but I am so delighted to be here,’ he told Rangers’ website. ‘I know the size of the club. I spent 14 years here, so it is a great feeling and I’m looking forward to the challenge.

‘You always have faith in your own ability that you can play at the top level and this club is the highest level. I am joining a really talented group of players and a really talented group of goalkeepers, so I am excited.’
Kelly faces a tough challenge to win a starting place, with current No 1 Jack Butland having been Rangers’ best player last term. Clement added: ‘We have had some really positive conversations and he is a goalkeeper with experience in Scotland and in the Scottish Premiership, which will be valuable for our squad.’
Clement has already captured midfielder Connor Barron from Aberdeen, Brazilian left-back Jefte from Fluminense and French centre-back Clinton Nsiala from AC Milan. Winger Oscar Cortes has also returned for a second loan spell from Lens.
