Gogglebox Australia star Isabelle Silbery has revealed she was recently diagnosed with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

The 34-year-old answered questions about her diagnosis on Instagram, after finally seeking help when her condition became ‘unbearable’ for her loved ones.

‘It’s PMS on steroids… I suffer severe symptoms in the lead-up to my period and then I’m totally back to normal,’ Isabelle wrote.

In addition to mental health symptoms, the Melburnian has also put on 10 kilograms as a result of her PMDD.

‘Extreme anger that turns to sadness and super irritated by anyone and everything. Hopelessness… unmotivated… big, sore boobs,’ she said of her symptoms.

Isabelle said her PMDD symptoms worsened after coming off contraception.

She encouraged her followers to seek advice from their GP if they have similar symptoms, and shared a link to an online resource.

Isabelle recently celebrated 18 months of dating her fiancé Alex Richards.

They got engaged after just eight months together.

She first met Alex in March 2020 and within weeks decided to self-isolate with him during the Covid-19 lockdown. Alex popped the question in July that year.

‘This happened… and I said yes. To a man who truly sees me, understands me and loves me for all my idiosyncrasies,’ Isabelle wrote on Instagram at the time.

‘I don’t need diamond rings or all the things… no perfected engagement pics… It’s just us … just as we are. All I really need is unconditional love. We all do.’

Isabelle said Alex proposed ‘on the couch’ at home.
