A boxing fan has been stabbed in the neck at a Gold Coast pub after watching Connor McGregor’s defeat to Floyd Mayweather.
A violent brawl broke out at Surfers Paradise Beer Garden on the corner of Cavill Avenue and Orchid Avenue about 3.30pm before a 29-year-old man suffered a serious neck wound.
It is alleged a 24-year-old man involved in the altercation produced a knife.
Emergency services were quick to attend, with a high-acuity unit also called out.

They were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital by ambulance.
A 24-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
Another person suffered a head injury and was treated at the scene by attending paramedics.
Witnesses say the bar was packed full of patrons watching the fight while also claiming a security guard at the bar was ‘covered in blood’, The Courier Mail reported.
Police investigations are ongoing.
