A family on Queensland’s Gold Coast has woken to find a furry intruder making themselves comfortable in their lounge.
A koala set itself up in a woman’s Helensvale lounge, finding a prime spot on the sofa to snuggle in.
The woman heard a commotion in the middle of the night before finding the koala on Monday.

She then called Wildcare Australia who relocated the ‘beautiful healthy koala’ to nearby bushland.
The mission was described as being ‘one of our more unusual rescues’ on Wildcare Australia’s Facebook page.
After the koala was safely relocated, the family returned to sleep.
