Gold Coast man shot in the eye by drive-by gunmen

Two gunmen are on the run after shooting a Gold Coast father in the eye in a targeted daylight assault.

Businessman Steven Jaison Saillot, 36, was pulling away from his home on Roe Street, Upper Coomera on the Gold Coast about 8am on Thursday when two men in a white hatchback pulled up in front of the house and shot him in the eye.

Mr Saillot, who had a workmate in the passenger seat, ran for his life and hid in a nearby garden before approaching a neighbour for help.
