Gold Medallist Olympic swimmer Libby Trickett gives birth

Four-time Olympic gold medallist Libby Trickett has given birth to her second baby daughter.

The swimmer and her husband Luke named her Edwina Daisy, with the little one arriving on Friday, two weeks earlier than expected.

The Triple M radio presenter posted a photo of herself and Edwina in hospital.

‘Little Eddie weighed 3.7kg and is 52cm long. We can’t believe how lucky and blessed we are to have brought another gorgeous little being into our lives,’ she posted.

‘We are so in love and Poppy is a very excited little sister.’

The couple’s first daughter Poppy Frances was born on August 31, 2015. 

Trickett won gold at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens as part of the 4x100m freestyle team, while also winning bronze in the 50m freestyle.

At the Beijing Olympics in 2008 Trickett won gold in the 100m butterfly and silver in the 100m freestyle.

She also won gold as part of the 4x100m medley relay team and a bronze in the 4x100m freestyle relay at Beijing. 

She retired from the sport at age 24 but later made a comeback.

Trickett went on to claim her fourth gold medal as part of the 4x100m freestyle relay team at the 2012 Games in London.
