Google Calendar is DOWN: Site hit with outage for users around the world, leaving them unable to check their schedules or receive reminders

  • Google Calendar began experiencing a global outage around 10:00 a.m. (ET)
  • It has affected users in the US, UK, Europe, Japan and parts of South America

Google Calendar has crashed for users around the world.

The popular scheduling service started having issues around 10:00 a.m. (ET) on Tuesday morning, preventing many in the US, UK, Europe and Japan from accessing the site.

Instead of the site loading, users were often hit with an ‘Error 404’ message.

Google’s G Suite Status Dashboard had been updated to reflect issues with Google Calendar.

‘We’re investigating reports of an issue with Google Calendar,’ the message read.

‘We will provide more information shortly. The affected users are unable to access Google Calendar.’

In response to a request for comment, Google directed Dailymail.com to the company’s G Suite dashboard.

All of Google’s other services, including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Hangouts and others, don’t appear to be affected by the Google Calendar outage.

Ironically, Google Calendar went down just about an hour after Google’s G Suite Twitter account published a tweet about how the app makes scheduling simpler.

‘If simpler = 404 error, then yeah, sure,’ one user quipped in a reply to the tweet.

The service issues appear to have primarily hit users in the US, UK, parts of Europe, Japan and some areas in South America, according to Down Detector.

As of 10:30 a.m. (ET), nearly 4,400 reports had been submitted from users affected by the outage.
