Plugged in: Tech proved popular with the $999 iPhone X coming in at number one and Call of Duty WWII, $59.99, nabbing the number three spot
Old favorite: Ugg boots took the number two spot, $160 from Macys.com
The criteria to make Google’s list is two-fold: First the products must be the most searched for in the first two weeks of December, when most people are kicking off their holiday shopping, and they’re also have to display show strong year-over-year growth in the market.
Not surprisingly, Google revealed that the recently released iPhone X was the most searched for smartphone and is at the top of its 2017 list. Featuring facial recognition, a full-screen display and a sleek design, it comes in at an eye-watering $999.
Love them or hate them, Ugg boots are holding steady in the popularity stakes for yet another year, coming in as the second most searched for item, according to Google.
First released in the U.S. in the late 70s, it wasn’t until celebrities started wearing the sheepskin lined boots in the early Noughties and Oprah revealed them as one of her ‘favorite things’ in 2000, that sales sky-rocketed and the brand became a household name.
For gaming fans, Call of Duty’s WWII was the game search of choice, with the search engine revealing it came in third in the list of most searched for products.

Featuring over 40 foundation colors to cater to every skin tone, psychedelic packaging and award-winning formulas, the range was the eight most Googled product leading up to this year’s holiday season.
Watches are always a popular gift choice and this year, MVMT has come up trumps with consumers, coming in as the ninth most searched for item.
Priced affordably at under the $100 mark, the brand allows watch owners to customize their timepiece with interchangeable straps.
Beloved by the Kardashians, (Kris Jenner reportedly owns over a dozen) and most of the women from the Real Housewives franchise, the Hermes Birkin bag has become synonymous with celebrity, and the leather tote was the tenth most searched for items according to Google.
Whether or not all those searches amounted to sales is another matter – the 25mm Epsom Birkin is the cheapest and starts at $8,300 while the larger and more ornate versions can cost up to $300,000.
