He’s more than happy to roast his fans on Twitter when they send him a picture of their poorly made meal.
But now Gordon Ramsay finally knows how it feels to be roundly mocked online as diners have slammed a photo of one of his beef carpaccio starters for being ‘tiny’ and resembling a woman’s genitals.
The Michelin-starred chef had proudly posted a picture of the $24 Wagyu beef starter served up at one of his Gordon Ramsay Steak restaurants in Las Vegas on Facebook to his 7.5 million followers.
Gordon Ramsay posted a photo of the American Wagyu beef carpaccio served with a devilled quail’s egg, puffed rice paper and truffle salsa on his Facebook page but the dish was roundly mocked for its small size
Fans roundly mocked the TV star and Michelin-starred chef for the presentation of the dish, which some said looked like a ‘beef curtain’ or a row of woman’s clitorises.
Others said he and his team of chefs were serving up a ‘great empty space’ with a ‘meat garnish’ rather than a meal.
They branded the pricey $24 starter ‘tiny’ and said it didn’t have enough food on the plate even for an ‘appetiser’.
Gordon Ramsay has not yet responded to his critics.
Gordon Ramsay has 16 Michelin stars for his various fine dining restaurants across the world
Fans of the chef criticised the chef for the small portion and because the meat bore a resemblance to a woman’s genitals, according to some
The reason for the small size may be due to the fact it is a starter, and also because the beef is Wagyu, which is the most expensive variety in the world.
It is also garnished with pricey truffle.
The starter also features a devilled quail’s egg, puffed rice paper and a cornichon.
It is on sale for $24 at the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino at Ramsay’s restaurant there, or for $23 if you pay with Total Rewards points from the casino.
