This incredible footage shows a gorilla gesturing to a man to swipe left as he showed the animal pictures of female apes on his mobile phone.

The footage was filmed at the Louisville Zoo in Kentucky, US on Sunday and was posted on Twitter.

The video has now amassed more than 82,000 retweets and 146,000 likes on the social media platform.

The short 12-second video shows a man sat on a bench by the ape’s enclosure. The man holds up his phone so Jelani the gorilla can see the phone.

The silverback then knocks on the glass and gestures to the man, indicating he wants the picture to be changed.

Sierra Anderson, who posted the video on social media, said: ‘Dude was showing the gorilla pictures of female gorillas and he for real is like “next one please”.’

The hilarious caption ‘Eh no, next one please’ reads as if that might be what Jelani would say.

Jelani has become a social media sensation due to his love of mobile phone.

Video posted in 2015 shows the ape fixated on a mobile phone screen as a woman shows Jelani pictures of other apes. As the woman scrolls to a picture of Jelani, the silverback points at himself.

Jelani has lived in Louisville Zoo since 2002 after he was born at Lincoln Park Zoo in 1997.

At his current enclosure, Jelani lives with three other male silverbacks named Bengati, Kicho and Cecil.

The zoo said the loving animal likes to look at images and videos on his mobile phone.

They added: ‘He enjoys the company of Bengati and they sometimes play or rest together.’
