A federal agency that oversees the Burning Man celebration has suggested attendees should receive bags for defecation purposes, citing that the matter has become a growing problem in recent years.
The Bureau of Land Management said attendees have been known to use the bathroom in areas of the deep playa- a location far from Black Rock City – where there are no portable restrooms available for use.
Scheduled for August 26 – September 3 in the Black Rock Desert north of Reno, the event attracts around 80,000 people from around the world.

According to WSOCTV, several attendees who use the bathroom have also misused the facilities.
‘In years past, retrieval efforts have surfaced a mattress, a full roast chicken and thousands of cigarette butts and baby wipes,’ the news station reported.
‘Though a dirty job, it’s vital for the Burning Man organization to leave the desert spotless since it is a federally protected national conservation area.’

The federal agency said they will place signs around the grounds to inform attendees about location of porta pottys as well as proper restroom use.
While Burning Man staff ‘search for and quickly clean up human waste deposited during deep playa music events,’ the agency is still calling for them to ‘hand out or ask Burners to bring pee bottle and poop bags for camp and deep playa events,’ according to the news station.
The festival annually allows attendees to set up DJ booths, art, cars, sculptures and other creations, the Burning Man website said.
