Grant Denyer’s wife Chezzi has shared her concerns over homeschooling her children for two more months in lockdown.

In an Instagram post shared on Saturday, the podcaster admitted she was worried that her kids would fall behind.

In a lengthy caption, Chezzi, 41, wrote: ‘Worrying that another nine weeks of homeschooling will see your kids fall behind is a very valid feeling. I am worried too.

‘Home has so many distractions. And most of us are not teachers.. And if your kids are like mine, you have to sit next to them all day to assist and encourage… leaving very little time for any actual work, housework essentials, or other children’.

She went on to share an inspirational quote sent to her by a girlfriend.

‘What if it’s these children, this generation that will have more compassion, more understanding, more abilities to do practical things around the home, more able to self soothe themselves during worrying times?’ the quote pondered.

‘What if all this time at home makes them appreciate the finer things of life.. like socialising, friendships and getting outside to play sport? All the things they are being prevented from doing at the moment.’

Chezzi’s quote then expressed fears about being a ‘terrible mum’ because of, ‘asking them to concentrate, telling them to do their work… and raising my voice at times out of frustration’.

It then asked:  ‘Why are we so hard on ourselves? What kind of things are you doing with your kids to survive lockdown and homeschooling?

‘And I should note here that I have the upmost respect for every single parent from Melbourne – surviving more lockdowns then the rest of us. You are absolute heroes.’
