Great British Road Trips: Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood wrestle in skintight suits

Strictly’s Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood slip into skintight wrestling suits as they grapple on Great British Road Trips

Fans are used to seeing them suited and booted in dapper attire on Strictly Come Dancing.

But Bruno Tonioli, 65, and Craig Revel Horwood, 56, looked very different in wrestling gear as they filmed scenes for Craig and Bruno’s Great British Road Trips.

Bruno, who has taken this year off BBC’s Strictly due to pandemic travel restrictions, and Craig will be seen getting to grips with one of the Lake District’s oldest sports, Cumbrian Wrestling, in the episode – which will air next Wednesday.

Looking good: Bruno Tonioli, 65, and Craig Revel Horwood, 56, donned tight wrestling gear for next Wednesday’s Craig and Bruno’s Great British Road Trips

The pair got a taste for historic Cumbria as they travelled to Cockermouthwhere Craig was keen for Bruno to try one of the region’s oldest sports.

The duo could be seen in monochrome outfits consisting of white vests and leggings with black briefs over the top and matching socks and shoes.

They could be seen partaking in a spot of rough and tumble, gripping onto each other’s suits, with Bruno standing over Craig in a pose which would be far more fitting on the Strictly dance floor than in the wrestling ring.

Craig and Bruno also experienced the very best of the Lake District as they took the scenic westward circuit from Kendal to Keswick.

Passing through an ever changing landscape, they took in glacial lakes and breath-taking mountain ranges while tacking some of the UK’s most challenging roads.

Beginning in Kendal the twinkle-toed pair headed west, crossing Windermere by ferry, before making a pit stop at nearby Coniston Water, cooling off from the drive with an exhilarating cold-water swim.

Skirting mountain Scafell, Bruno takes the wheel as they face their most testing drive to date, traversing two back-to-back single track mountain roads.

Each episode takes the duo to a different part of the country, where they discover local history, enjoy activities such as fishing and swimming, and sample local cuisine, all with the help of passionate local guides.

Their travels take them from the mountain roads of the Scottish Highlands, to the Lake District, the Yorkshire Moors, the Cotswolds, and the scenic Cornish coast.

Craig and Bruno’s Great British Road Trips airs on Wednesdays  at 8pm on ITV.
