The Green Bay Packers are facing an anxious wait to discover the extent of the lower leg injury sustained by star quarterback Jordan Love on Friday night.
Love’s leg buckled awkwardly under the weight of a tackle as he tried to make a play to keep the Packers alive in the final six seconds of their 34-29 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 25-year-old, who signed a four-year deal worth $220million in July, was left rolling around in pain as medical staff rushed to give him treatment.
Love was able to walk off the field but required help from medical staff and Packers running back Josh Jacobs to get back to the locker room.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur said he ‘didn’t know’ the extent of the damage to Love’s leg. They next play on September 15 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Jason Kelce, who tweeted a number of times during the Eagles’ first game since he retired, posted a message to Love.
He said: ‘Hopefully Jordan Love is okay, love watching him play, was quietly a little nervous about this one, big win for the Good Guys.’
When a fan joked Kelce should offer Love his leg, the brother of Travis replied: ‘I promise you, for the longevity of his career Jordan Love does not want my leg!’
Rival quarterback Jalen Hurts made sure he checked in on Love at the end of the game and they shared a quick embrace on the sideline.
The injury to Love capped off a miserable night for the Packers as they lost their opening game in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Love and Jayden Reed powered the Packers in a game that featured seven lead changes. Before his injury, Love threw for 260 yards, two TDs and one pick on 17-of-34 passing.
Reed had 171 yards from scrimmage with two scores. Josh Jacobs added 84 yards on 16 carries in his first game for Green Bay.
