Famed for his role as the fearsome, imposing teacher Mr Gilbert in cult sitcom The Inbetweeners, he has also starred in Cuckoo, Man Down and The Cleaner.

Greg’s last stand-up tour, You Magnificent Beast, was preceded by The Back of My Mum’s Head in 2013 and his breakthrough show Firing Cheeseballs At A Dog, which was nominated for best show in the 2010 Edinburgh comedy awards.

The tour includes two dates at The Royal Albert Hall and The OVO Wembley Arena, scheduled for June 10 and June 12 respectively.

The news comes as he is about to return for a 17th series of popular game show Taskmaster, which he co-hosts alongside Alex Horne, on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Greg’s hit BBC show The Cleaner was renewed for a third series back in January.

It sees him play the part of Paul ‘Wicky’ Wickstead, a crime scene cleaner who visits various people each episode.

Based on German show Der Tatortreiniger, The Cleaner’s first series aired in 2021 before a 2022 Christmas special and a second series in spring 2023.

The show, written and co-produced by Greg, sees crime scene cleaner Wickstead encounter a series of unusual characters as he goes about his day to day work.

Alongside Greg, Zita Sattar features in every episode as Ruth, a police officer who is close friends with the cleaner.
