She emerged from the hairdressers hours later sporting fresh highlights.

Kate announced in June she would be leaving Australia and returning to the U.S. for a little while.
At the time, she told a WA radio station: ‘I’m about to go home for a bit, literally in six days.’
However, she promised to come back, adding: ‘I go back for work and [to] see my family. So I’ll be gone for a couple of months, but then I’ll be back!’
Since relocating Down Under, the Private Practice star has laid down roots in the city of Perth, on the country’s west coast.

She found herself ‘stuck’ in the Southern Hemisphere after lockdowns began to take hold while she was on an extended vacation.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph in August 2020, Kate said: ‘I didn’t really want to go back to New York in the middle of a pandemic when it was pretty gnarly to say the least.
‘I couldn’t go home initially, and now that I can, I don’t really fancy going back. When I have my own mother saying don’t come home, my 86-year-old mum… we are in a very challenging time!’
At about this time she also told 2GB’s Jim Wilson she felt ‘very grateful’ to be in Australia during the Covid-19 crisis.
‘Honestly, I feel very lucky,’ she said. ‘It’s kind of a crazy situation: it’s like being in an alternate reality compared to the rest of the world.’
