A legendary Australian entertainer has shown up in resurfaced footage from an infamous stunt performed during a 1963 Aussie Rules football match.
The footage begins by showing the veteran performer as a sprightly 20-year-old who is caught running into the middle of a footy pitch during a big game.
The youngster is then seen chatting to St Kilda FC players as he offers them advice about how to win the match, before he is promptly escorted off the field by police.
The veteran entertainer appears unrecognisable at the start of the clip until he suddenly put on his trademark hat, showing that it is none other than Molly Meldrum.
Molly looked to be in great spirits as he is taken off the field by authorities, moments after giving the players some game-winning advice.
The Hey Hey it’s Saturday star later told Nine about why he made the spur of the moment decision to invade the field at Junction Oval in Melbourne.
‘I was in the cheer squad and for some reason I jumped the fence, ran out onto the ground and the umpire was about to bounce the ball,’ Molly began.
‘The umpire yelled “Stop!” and I said “Hold on a moment”. I told the players that apart from winning they need better percentage to get in.’

He added that being chased by police was worth it after helping his beloved team win such an important game, which helped bring them to the finals.
It follows reports that Molly has been ‘struggling’ with his health in recent months and has largely withdrawn from public life.
Next month will mark 50 years since Countdown, the long-running ABC music show that shot Meldrum to stardom, debuted on Aussie TV screens.
Molly, who has been in headlines for the wrong reasons in recent years, was a notable no-show at a Royal Australian Mint event in Melbourne earlier this month, to launch a commemorative Countdown coin.

The show’s announcer Gavin Wood revealed his longtime mate had struggled with his health ever since falling off a ladder in December 2011 almost killed him.
‘The fall, it is all down to the fall, was a horrible thing to have happened,’ Wood told the Herald Sun.
Although Meldrum did not attend the coin launch, he did release a statement and sneaked in his famous catchphrase whenever he recommended an artist on the program: ‘Do yourself a favour and get one’.
