Guess who? Aussie TV star looks unrecognisable as she shares throwback photo from her clubbing days: ‘I would dance all night’

She’s one of Australia’s most popular TV presenters.

On Tuesday, Sarah Harris unearthed a throwback snap from her clubbing heyday live on The Project.

In the photo, the TV personality, 43, looked unrecognisable as she displayed shorter brunette locks and flaunted a chic blue ensemble.

Harris candidly reminisced about her clubbing adventures with co-host Georgie Tunny, confessing ‘I would dance all night.’

It comes after Harris recently explained how having children changed her from a story-chasing journalist with a bad smoking habit to a proud mother of two.

The Project host shared the story of her transformation in the new book Parenting in Progress by Mel Wilson, an extract of which was published by news.com.au.

‘When I started [in TV], you had to chase hard. I was this pack-a-day smoker, out on the road, door-knocking people’ the 42-year-old said.

‘I was like a proper chain-smoking journo. These kids saved my life in so many ways. There’s a saying that goes, “Before kids life was black and white, but after kids it becomes Technicolor.”‘

Women who smoke a 20-pack of cigarettes daily are 13 times more likely to die from lung cancer than women who don’t smoke, according to research.

A former smoker’s cancer risk drops by half after a decade of not smoking.

Harris began smoking at age 21, and eventually quit after marrying a ‘wonderful man who absolutely loathes smoking’, she wrote in a 2014 column for The Daily Telegraph.

Before giving up cigarettes for good, the Channel Ten presenter had tried various methods to quit, including nicotine gum, inhalers, patches and lozenges.

She also tried hypnotherapists, two acupuncturists and a psychotherapist, and was even prescribed ‘heavy’ smoking-cessation drugs that had nasty side effects.

Harris went on to explain to Wilson in ‘Parenting in Progress’ that despite her impressive career, having a family was her greatest achievement.

‘Having children, I think, has been the making of me, and probably my greatest feat to date,’ Sarah said.

‘It’s one of the things I’m most proud of, something I find I’m so comfortable doing, even though I don’t get it right all the time.’

Harris announced her split from IT specialist husband Tom Ward in March 2021, after seven years of marriage.

The former couple share custody of sons Paul, seven, and Harry, five.
