She’s the veteran TV actress who rose to fame as a child star on Home and Away in the late 80s.

She has also shared the screen with several Aussie icons, including Heath Ledger, John Farnham and Shaun Micallef.

Most recently she has expanded her career into radio as co-host of a popular Nova FM breakfast show alongside Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli.

On Thursday, Kate Ritchie marked Book Week by sharing an adorable throwback photo from 1987, where she was dressed up as Dame Slap from Enid Blyton’s The Faraway Tree series.

Despite only being nine years old in the snap, her cheeky grin and striking facial features instantly identifies her.

Many of Kate’s followers were quick to gush over the precious throwback snap.

‘So cute Kate,’ one fan wrote, while another added: ‘Lovely memories’.

It comes after Kate recently paid tribute to her daughter Mae on her ninth birthday.

Kate, who shares her daughter with ex-NRL star Stuart Webb, shared a photo of Mae last week in Wendy Whitley’s Secret Garden in Sydney.

The Nova star called Mae the ‘greatest human’ she knows, and praised her for choosing Kate as her mother.

‘She is the funniest, most kind and clever little girl. She reminds me that life and the world is wonderful. She is brave and adventurous and energetic,’ she continued.

‘She knows how to love and be loved. She challenges me, educates me and makes me want to be a better person, every day.’

Kate went on to offer an inspirational message to the youngster, telling her that she will support her as she goes on to do wonderful things.
