Gunman opens fire into Melbourne home in Tarneit while children sleep inside

A family-of-five have miraculously escaped injury after a masked gunman fired six shots into their house in the early hours of the morning.

Two adults and their three children were asleep inside their home on St Michaels Drive, in Tarneit, in Melbourne’s west, at about 3am on September 3 when they were woken by gunshots.

CCTV captured a man, who was wearing a balaclava and dark hoodie, walk down the street, stop by a nearby parked ute before opening fire on the house.

He then quickly fled the scene and remains on the run.

Nobody inside the house was injured.

The man who lives in the house is reportedly known to police.

Victoria Police released CCTV of the incident on Wednesday.
