Gunmen storm Western Sydney home in Prairiewood, two young girls escape unharmed

Two young girls have been left terrified after a gang of gun-wielding men burst into their western Sydney home around 2am on Friday.

Four men kicked down the door of the home in Prairiewood, where a woman in her 50s and girls aged eight and ten were sleeping.

At least one of the men was holding a gun, a family friend told The Today Show.

The friend said the gunman put the weapon against the woman’s head and told her to cooperate and ‘nobody would get hurt’.

The woman was forced to hand over cash and jewellery before the gang fled.

The men remain on the run and a police manhunt is underway.

It’s understood the woman’s husband and son were overseas at the time.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Fairfield Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
