Guy Sebastian reveals messy renovation feud with ‘filthy neighbour’

Guy Sebastian has hit back at an angry resident who labelled him a ‘nightmare neighbour’ for renovating his $3.1million home in Sydney’s Maroubra.

The Australian Idol star, 37, blamed one neighbour in particular for the backlash to his construction project, claiming they are ‘a bit filthy at everyone’ on the street.

‘They’re saying they are the little guy, but they live in a $2million house or something. He’s not the little guy, he’s the angry guy!’ Guy told Hit105’s Stav, Abby and Matt on Friday.

Guy Sebastian’s neighbourhood feud continues! The star has hit back at an angered local who is ‘filthy’ over his Sydney renovation – after the project was branded a ‘demolition nightmare’

Guy’s neighbours in Maroubra were said to be furious over what they called his ‘demolition nightmare’, with one local telling Daily Mail Australia last year they were considering moving due to the ongoing renovations.

The Battle Scars singer told the radio program that he had been forced to ‘have a word’ with the complaining neighbour after the situation between them worsened.

Guy recalled a confrontation he had with his neighbour during the construction, after he believed the man had intentionally blocked workers’ access to the property.

‘The bloke parked two centimeters from the back of the crane so it couldn’t swing around and do things… so I had to go over and have a word to him,’ he explained.

Guy claimed he pleaded with the man to ‘let bygones be bygones’ and described his attempt to park in the crane as ‘immature’.

He added: ‘Meanwhile, while I’m taking to him his dog comes up and bites me twice! And I still kept the peace, saying, “It’s all good”. And my leg’s bleeding!’

Making light of the situation, Guy continued: ‘It will be good, but now I’ve just spoken about him on live radio – so I’m not keeping the peace really.’
