Revealed: The surprising reason Guy Sebastian designed his $3.1million Sydney mansion to look like a ‘fortress without windows’
Guy and Jules Sebastian moved into their ultra-modern home in Maroubra, Sydney several months ago following a lengthy construction period.
And after neighbours complained the property looked like a ‘fortress’, the 37-year-old singer has explained the logic behind his unique design choice.
Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Friday, Guy revealed the surprising reason why there are few windows at the front of the $3.1million property.

The Australian Idol star claimed that privacy concerns motivated the couple’s decision to have a monolithic facade.
‘From the front, obviously I don’t have heaps of windows and stuff, I’ve tried to create somewhere private,’ Guy said.
‘But they [neighbours] have labelled it a fortress without windows. But the whole back side of it, is all windows.’

Guy then explained that he walks around the house naked sometimes and doesn’t want neighbours or pedestrians looking into his living room.
It comes after the Battle Scars hitmaker was locked in a bitter feud with a neighbour who objected to his home development.
In November, Guy lashed out at the unidentified local man during a radio interview, after his construction was described as a ‘nightmare’ for residents.

He blamed one neighbour in particular for the backlash to his construction project, claiming they are ‘a bit filthy at everyone’ on the street.
‘They’re saying they are “the little guy”, but they live in a $2million house or something. He’s not the little guy, he’s the angry guy!’ Guy told Hit105.
Guy’s neighbours in Maroubra were said to be furious over what they called his ‘demolition nightmare’, with one local telling Daily Mail Australia last year they were considering moving due to the building work.
