Gwyneth Paltrow wishes daughter Apple a happy birthday: ‘You are everything I could have dreamed of’

Gwyneth Paltrow took to Instagram to wish her daughter Apple a happy 18th birthday on Saturday. 

The actress, 49, posted a snap of her eldest child sporting a beautiful white dress and gazing at her reflection in the mirror. 

Her mother wrote a long, heartfelt Instagram post that began, ’18. I’m a bit of a loss for words this morning ([crying emoji]). I could not be more proud of the woman you are. You are everything I could have dreamed of and so much more. 

‘Proud doesn’t cover it, my heart swells with feelings I can’t put in to words. You are deeply extraordinary in every way. 

‘Happy birthday my darling girl. I hope you know how special you are, and how much light you have brought to all who are lucky enough to know you. Especially me.’ 

She finished off the caption by writing, ‘I say it all the time and I will never stop… in the words of auntie Drew, I was born the day you were born. I love you. ❤️ Mama.’

Several of Paltrow’s famous friends and fans wished Apple well in the comments. 

Ali Wentworth of Office Space fame wrote, ‘Happy Birthday sweet, beautiful Apple!’ while singer-songwriter Mafalda also wished her a happy day. 

Apple is one of two children Paltrow shares with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. They also have a son named Moses who turned 16 last month.

In March of last year, the Oscar winner revealed that she never really wanted to get divorced from Martin.

‘I’ve learned so much from something I wanted least in the world,’ she said on Anna Faris podcast Anna Faris is Unqualified. ‘I never wanted to get divorced. I never wanted to not be married to the father of my kids, theoretically.’

Despite not necessarily wanting to get divorced, Paltrow has moved on since splitting with Martin.
