A former Team Canada gymnast has shared the rigorous, five-step routine that she used to ensure her bikini line was always ‘smooth and bump free’ while wearing a leotard every day.

Laura Mazzuca, 29, from Toronto, went viral on TikTok this week after she spoke out about the products that she used while shaving to prevent her skin from developing razor burn.

‘If you’ve ever wondered how gymnasts get their bikini line so smoothly shaved and bump free, I’m gonna teach you,’ she began in the clip, which got more than 1.4 million views.

The athlete, who created her own skincare line called Mi-el, explained that she has ‘really dark hair,’ so she was forced to shave daily while she was a gymnast.

‘Because it’s sugar, it doesn’t irritate you, it dissolves really, really smoothly,’ she explained.

‘This has specific oils in it that will help prevent razor bumps. And it will also leave you feeling hydrated.’

Next, she said she ‘cleanses her body’ with La Roche-Posay’s Lipikar Cleansing Oil or Cream, which costs $17.

‘I use this as shaving cream – yes, it might be a little bit expensive but I’m telling you, following every single step of this and you won’t get razor bumps anymore,’ she continued.

When it comes to actually removing the hair, she suggests pulling gently on your skin before shaving in a downwards direction.

‘I don’t go over the same spot multiple times. I find that by pulling my skin and shaving, it gives me the closest shave,’ she told her followers.

She recommended shaving at the very end of your shower, and stressed the importance of replacing your blade frequently – about every six shaves.

‘[The bikini oil] is literally a lifesaver. I apply this on my bikini line every day, and it helps prevent razor bumps, ingrown hairs, redness, or inflammation,’ she gushed.

‘And if you do have them, this will calm them down a lot. Lastly, I lock everything in with the [moisturizer]. This really, really helps.
