Hackers change highway sign to mock Donald Trump

  • Electronic road sign in Modesto, California altered twice in a week by hackers
  • Notice board has been secured with a padlock and now reads ‘Trump is a b****’
  • Highways worker says it can’t be changed until replacement parts arrive

A highways sign is catching the attention of drivers for all the wrong reasons in the city of Modesto, California.

Pranksters have hacked the electronic notice board with a message set to embarrass the nation’s president Donald Trump.

Instead of reading instructions for motorists, it now says: ‘Trump is a b****!’.

‘I love Modesto!’ Makayla Victoria was in fits of laughter after spotting the hacked highways sign in California, USA

Amused passenger Makayla Victoria couldn’t help but descend into laughter as she drove past the sign on Monday.

She found it so funny she recorded a short clip while passing the sign and posted it to social media.

Makayla wrote: ‘”Trump is a b****!” Someone has hacked into this ****, good job Modesto.’

She tweeted the video alongside a crying with laughter emoji with the hashtag ‘#trumpisab****’.

Makayla wasn’t the only one to spot the message board along South Carpenter Road near West Hatch Road.

Cynthia Londo told Modbee.com she couldn’t stop laughing as she and her husband passed the sign on Tuesday.

She said: ‘I thought everyone would get a kick out of it so I put it on Facebook.’

The public works director for the area told the news site the sign had actually been hacked twice in the space of a week.

The cheeky prankster was so keen they cut their way through cables to the sign and put a padlock on the back to stop highways officials from changing it.

After programming the unit to display the anti-Trump message, the thief stole the controller.

It won’t be able to be changed until replacement parts arrive in the county later this week.
