Halle Berry cleared up long standing rumors that she and her Monster’s Ball co-star Billy Bob Thornton were actually having intercourse in the film’s very explicit sex scene.

Halle won an Academy Award for Best Actress in 2002 for her role as Leticia.

Halle made history as the first African American woman to win the award for Best Actress at the Academy Awards.

Halle added that people can’t accept that she has acting skills and just assume those particular scenes ‘had to be real,’ she explained in the podcast.

Explaining on the podcast: ‘It’s secretly driven me mad all these years. You can’t just be a good actor and you can’t just make that s***t look real.’

At the time, Billy was married to Angelina Jolie while filming Monster’s Ball.

Halle, who called herself a ‘girls girl,’ said that she knows Angie and she would not sign off on her and Billy having real intercourse – and Halle herself had respect for their relationship.

‘He had a wife, so – all respect,’ joking that Angie would have had to sign off on it if they ever did.

‘I know Angie and she ain’t signing off on that s**t,’ she said on the podcast.

Billy and Angelina were married from 2000 until 2003.

In 2012, Billy, 69, also tried to clear up the rumors about that sex scene while speaking on Sway In The Morning.

‘No we’re actors. We do the job that we’re required to do, and we were both very professional about it. It’s not like you can’t dream thought,’ he said at the time.

‘Halle’s a great talent and a beautiful woman,’ he added.
