Pilot Jimmy Nicholson has been announced as the new Bachelor for the 2021 season of the popular Channel Ten dating show.
According to Sydney Confidential, the 31-year-old decided to sign up for the dating series after he was stood down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jimmy explained to the publication that he has found it difficult to find The One, because his job meant that he was ‘never in the same spot for too long’.

But he is ready to ‘open his heart’ and is hoping to find someone ‘that he can have fun with’.
‘I feel very fortunate to be the Bachelor 2021. I am ready to open up my heart and meet someone,’ he told the publication.
‘I hope to meet someone with similar values that I can have fun with and that shares the same zest for life as myself. The Bachelor franchise has produced many success stories and I hope to be the next.’

The eligible bachelor is of New Zealand and Fijian heritage, and has not appeared in any previous Bachelor franchises.
His Instagram account has been made private ahead of the series airing.
The publication claims that the hunky Bachelor began filming for the series this week.

Jimmy won’t be the only new addition to the series this year, with production moving to a brand new mansion.
Last month Daily Mail Australia revealed that the dating series will be filmed at a property located in Dural in Sydney’s north-west.
The $6.3million property, sits on five acres of land and features French chateau-inspired architecture.
Before setting up in Dural, The Bachelor and The Bachelorette were filmed at a $2.3million property in Oxford Falls, in Sydney’s north.
