Hangar 1 launches rosé-flavored vodka

There’s a rosé-flavored version of just about everything these days, from gummies to chocolate to ice pops — so really, it was only a matter of time before someone came out with rosé-flavored alcohol.

Yes, rosé wine is already, technically, rosé-flavored alcohol — but one company is now mixing the sweet taste into hard spirits.

Last month, Hangar 1 introduced its new rosé-flavored vodka, which is a blend of its signature vodka and California rosé wine.

‘Perfect for drinking with a group of friends in the afternoon. A great refreshing alternative to wine,’ the brand says.

The 80-proof drink is certainly stronger than a glass of wine, but Hangar 1 says it still retains the flavor, citing notes of ‘crisp apple, sweet pea blossoms, and a hint of oak on the nose, with a silky and soft mouthfeel finishing fresh with hints of cranberry’.

In addition to drinking it plain, the vodka can also be mixed into cocktails, and Hangar 1 recommends a rosé spritzer, rosé sangria, and ‘rosénade’.

Caley Shoemaker, head distiller for Hangar 1, talked about the new drink to Refinery29.

‘We looked at the booming rosé trend throughout America and in my own backyard, and created something that wine lovers will want to sit and sip year long,’ she said.

Need! Una Lou Rosé also announced a subscription service for cans of rosé

Though summer — typically considered prime rosé-drinking season — is still months away, several companies are already getting geared up to meet demand with new rosé products and innovations.

On Friday, Una Lou Rosé announced that it would begin offering its popular canned rosé through a subscription service.

From February though October, lovers of the pink wine can purchase a ‘season pass,’ which will get them a monthly delivery of the wine.

A four-pack per month (for nine months) costs $360, or $40 a box. Shoppers can get up to three four-packs a month.

‘We found that a lot of people were making repeat orders, so we thought it would be cool to give them an opportunity to get it upfront,’ winemaker and owner Andrew Mariani told Vogue.
