A Harley Street psychologist has revealed the simple techniques used by celebrities to come across as more charming and likeable.
Richard Reid, who teaches classes on how to ne more charismatic, revealed that calling someone by their name, having good posture and avoiding using ‘um’ and ‘like’ are the best ways to charm someone you’re trying to win over.
The therapist, who previously treated A-listers at The Priory, said that mirroring someone’s body language and telling stories also helps in becoming your most charismatic self.
Speaking exclusively to FEMAIL, Richard said Kim Kardashian, George Clooney, Beyonce, David Beckham and Madonna are some of the most charismatic people in the public.

‘All of these people are regarded as charismatic for similar reasons; a combination of physical attractiveness, dress sense, but more importantly perhaps, excellence within their chosen field, positive energy and a perceived ability to be able to exert influence (in other words, power),’ he explained.
‘In many ways, we are drawn to them because they embody many of our aspirations both in terms of the pursuit of beauty and excellence, but also because they embody a way of life that captures people’s imagination.
‘Power is especially alluring, as it taps into a basic human need for safety and reassurance.
‘Moreover, in the case of George Clooney and David Beckham, these individuals also suggest a degree of humility and warmth which means that they not only validate and elevate people with whom they come into direct contact but also make others identify with them more readily.’
