Harrison Butker sends pleading message to ‘fellow Catholic’ JD Vance to bring Donald Trump ‘back in line’ over key election stance

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker has once again used his platform to express his religious beliefs – this time, speaking about women’s reproductive rights.

Butker specifically asked for JD Vance, the running mate of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, to defend the unborn.

On Friday, Trump made a post on his social media platform Truth Social saying, ‘My administration will be great for women and their reproductive rights.’

Butker then took to Twitter, imploring Vance – and, by proxy, Trump – to bring the Republican Party ‘back in line’.

‘No party or candidate is perfect,’ Butker’s post on the social media platform began.

‘I implore my fellow Catholic @JDVance to help bring the Republican Party back in line with the foundational platform that all life is valuable and there can be no compromise when it comes to defending the unborn.’

Butker then quoted a Catholic priest, Father Chad Ripperger, saying ‘Our obligation is to vote for the lesser of two evils because voting for a lesser evil preserves the good that could be potentially lost.’

Now, Trump’s statement wasn’t exactly in favor of abortion and in his previous presidency, he oversaw the overturning of federal protection of abortion that was codified in the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court ruling.

But in his official 20-point platform on his campaign website, Trump does not mention anything about reproductive rights – let alone abortions.

The kicker has been quite vocal against abortion in the past – including during a controversial commencement speech he gave at Benedictine College in Kansas back in May against President Joe Biden.

‘[Biden] has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I’m sure to many people it appears that you can be both Catholic and pro-choice,’ he said.
