Shocking bodycam footage captured the moment three Connecticut police officers raided a hotel room and shot a suspected gunman in front of screaming children.
Suspected gunman Christopher Nolan, 42, was gunned down in the hotel room after allegedly shooting at someone from the window of a separate nearby hotel.
Cops were initially called to reports of shots fired at the America’s Best Value Inn in New London, Connecticut at around 1:50pm on Sunday, where witnesses claimed Nolan rushed into a room and fired at someone out of the window before fleeing the scene.
The police then learned that Nolan fled to the nearby Clarion Inn Hotel, where a room-by-room search saw them find Nolan on the second floor, in a room with multiple children inside.
Shocking police bodycam footage captured the moment three officers entered a hotel room to find a suspected gunman inside around several children, where he was trying to ‘escape’
Several terrified witnesses, including children, were inside the room at the time of the shooting, with a child’s legs seen on a bed on the left as police enter the room
After Nolan sustained several gunshot wounds, the bodycam footage showed the officers discovering a revolver in the corner of a windowsill next to where Nolan stood
According to the Office of the Inspector General (IG), which is investigating the police shooting, when officers knocked on the room another person allowed them to enter.
Nolan was found pressed against a window in an ‘apparent effort to escape’, the IG said in a report.
Frantic bodycam footage shows the moment officers say they realized Nolan was still holding a firearm, and when he turned towards the officers they opened fire.
The IG said the officers involved in the shooting were identified as Joseph Nott, Annie Agnew, and Seth Bolduc.
The footage also shows several children witness the shooting, some of them sitting on beds, and reacting in terror as the police burst into the room.

After the first shots were fired, cops went room-to-room at the nearby Clarion Inn, where they discovered and shot Nolan inside a room with several screaming children
Nolan sustained multiple gunshot wounds and received medical treatment at the scene, with the moments after the shooting showing the officers also finding a firearm.
Surrounded by bullet holes in the window of the room, a revolver can be seen in the bodycam footage on the corner of a windowsill near to where Nolan was allegedly trying to flee.
He was rushed to hospital and was transferred to the Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, which listed as him being in good condition on Wednesday, reports NBC Connecticut.
The New London Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for update when contacted by DailyMail.com.
The shooting is currently under investigation by the IG, the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad, the New London Police Department and the New London State’s Attorney’s Office.
It is unclear who the witnesses inside the room were, although the Department of Children and Families says it is aware that children were present as the incident unfolded and is also investigating.
