Harry and Meghan’s astrology revealed by leading astrologer Patrick Arundell

Harry is a Virgo at 22 degrees, but in the deep, rather psychological 8th House. It is likely that he needs continually to challenge himself and evolve.

Like his Grandparents, his Ascendant is in the business-like Capricorn at 11 degrees.

Harry’s Moon is in the 4th House, exalted in Taurus, giving him a deep love of home and family, and probably a craving for real security and structure.

His 10th House Cusp, or Midheaven, where he connects to the wider world, also follows the Queen and Prince Philip being in Scorpio and – also most identically to the Queen – the powerful Saturn is in close attendance.

The wonderful thing that Harry and Meghan share is that their Ascendant’s are in opposite signs. So, the self (1st House) has the counterpoint of the partner (7th House)

Harry's action man side comes from influences in the independent Sign of Sagittarius, including Mars (which he shares with his father) and also Uranus, the planet which resists such things as rules and regulations

Harry and Meghan have each other’s back – even if she likes to live life on her own terms

This might point to the tremendous weight of expectation that he has felt and the burdens this has brought.

His Sun Moon Mid-Point is in Cancer at 22 degrees, exactly Conjunct his paternal Grandfather’s Mid-Point and Queen Elizabeth’s Descendant. These celestial blood lines are rather extraordinary.

Harry’s action man side comes from influences in the independent Sign of Sagittarius, including Mars (which he shares with his father) and also Uranus, the planet which resists such things as rules and regulations.

Indeed, it is likely that Mars in Sagittarius has been a positive influence on his passion for,  and commitment to, the Invictus Games. Mars in this sign is very athletic, while Sagittarius is the sign of the internationalism that has been the basis of bringing service people from round the world together for this event.

Harry’s Mars squares his Sun, which can lead to an impulsive and impatient side in people.

He also has the deeply sensitive Neptune in Sagittarius and this Squares to his Sun position and also in a tense 150 angle to his Sun Moon Mid-Point.

This and the Sun’s very deep 8th House position can be challenging and subjects could feel disorientated, lost and confused at times, but also have a penchant for escapism.

Meghan’s Sun is located in Leo at 11 degrees in the 1st House, which gives brings a strong need to live life on an individuals’ terms.

Most remarkably her Sun is Conjunct the Ascendants of both King Charles and Camilla and the Moon of Queen Elizabeth II.

Her Venus Mars Mid-Point (the balance of attractiveness) is at 12 degrees Leo, also in the 1st House, and therefore amplifies her personal charisma – perfect for an actor or performer. In Leo, it definitely confers star quality.

Meghan's Moon is in the sign of balance and fairness, Libra in the 3rd House of every day communication. The Duchess's Ascendant is in the caring Sign of Cancer at 24 degrees and her Sun Moon Mid-Point is at 8 degrees Virgo in the 2nd House

The key ingredients in each person’s Natal Birth Chart

The Sun – Energy and Drive

The Moon – Security and Nurture

The Ascendant – Physical Self – how others see us

The Midheaven – Work and Worldly Role

The Sun Moon Mid-point – Our overall Personality

The Venus Mars Mid-Point – Our key way of relating

Meghan’s Moon is in the sign of balance and fairness, Libra in the 3rd House of everyday communication. The Duchess’s Ascendant is in the caring Sign of Cancer at 24 degrees and her Sun Moon Mid-Point is at 8 degrees Virgo in the 2nd House.

The big conclusions?

Meghan’s Moon is Conjunct the strict Saturn and the more altruistic Jupiter in the 3rd House. This is going to give a person a very precise way of speaking, and a to the point nature.

These influences also suggest a person who would define their identity through their ideals and belief systems.

With the Sun Moon Mid-Point in the sign of Virgo, which can be very detail-orientated, this adds the potential to further cut through in her manner of self-expression, which to some, will perhaps at times seem direct and a little piercing.

The Libra planets of the Moon, Saturn and Jupiter, are probably a lot to do with Meghan’s desire to campaign for the rights of those that she feels lack a voice. But they all Square, tensely, the reactive and fiery Mars in her 12th House.

This is a very complex placement, as Mars is compromised in the Sign of Cancer (known as being in Fall) and can at times be rather defensive.

This 12th v 3rd dynamic in Meghan’s chart could be triggering in terms of the subconscious (12th) and any sense of injustices ventilated very quickly and directly through Airy Libra (3rd) but with the limiting vibe of Saturn, bringing a cooler dimension.

Harry and Meghan’s Astrological connection

The wonderful thing that Harry and Meghan share is that their Ascendants are in opposite signs. So, the self (1st House) has the counterpoint of the partner (7th House).

Also, Harry’s Sun Moon Mid-Point is Conjunct Meghan’s Descendant. Ring a cosmic bell? This is exactly the same combination that the Queen and Prince Philip shared.

This is really delightful and means that both Harry and Meghan feel the other has their back. Also, his Sun links in a lovely angle to her Ascendant so he receives the way she comes across with enthusiasm and acceptance.

Meghan’s Sun Moon Mid-Point also links perfectly to Harry’s Mercury in its home sign of Virgo, and also to his Natal Jupiter in Capricorn. All this will give them a lot to talk about, including how they can help others through their good causes.

Harry's Venus also connects to Meghan's Pluto, suggesting this has a power of attraction which runs all the way to karmic, at the least somewhat irresistible

Harry’s freedom loving planet also angles perfectly to Meghan’s Sun, giving him the permission to be playful, uninhibited and himself.

Catches? Well, there are a couple of notable ones, but few couples’ charts are perfect.

Harry’s Saturn (the planet of limitation) is on Meghan’s 4th House Cusp in Equal House Astrology. This could at times see her feel somewhat reserved around him, but the 4th House can also mean family, so perhaps that is where this aspect comes through.

The other (like in his chart) is that the swirling, mysterious and sometimes confusing energies of Neptune (this time hers) Square his Sun. This can be a very subtle but powerful influence and affect people’s reality.

Astrology explained by Patrick Arundell:

Western Tropical Astrology

Western Tropical Astrology is based on the Four Seasons – sometimes known as the Cardinal Quadrants. These start with the First Point of Aries on the Vernal Equinox – around the 20th or 21st of March of each year. This is followed by Cancer from the Summer Solstice, Libra from the Autumnal Equinox and Capricorn from the Winter Solstice.

The word Zodiac in Latin is Zodiacus (derived from Greek) and means the ‘cycle or circle of little animals’ starting with the Ram for Aries, Bull for Taurus, and so on.

In Western Tropical Astrology the constellations are symbolic. This system does not take into account the Precession of the Equinoxes, though there are other astrological techniques that do.

What is a Birth Chart or Event Chart?

This is the exact moment in time when someone is born or an event takes place.

Because the planets are constantly moving, the make-up of a Birth Chart can change very quickly with every passing second and minute.

The Birth or Event Chart reflects the positions of all the planets, not just the Sun, but also crucially, the location in each of the 12 Houses that each planet is located in.

The combination of all these influences is what gives each of us such unique qualities – even if we are born on the same day or year.

What is a Secondary Progressed Chart?

A Progressed Chart is the evolution of the Natal or Birth Chart which for every year of our life, moves the Natal Chart forwards one day.

So, for example, in King Charles case, who is 75, his Progressed Chart reflects where his Natal Chart had evolved to when he was 75 days old.

This is known as the ‘Day per Year’ system and it is remarkably accurate.

The Secondary Progressed Chart (as it is fully known) is how our inner journey is unfolding, and can see changes in our outlook, approach and interests, though the Natal Birth Chart remains hugely influential around our core potential and responses. The moving planets in the Sky known as Transits can influence Key Natal and Progressed Chart positions but the Progressed Chart can also influence the Natal Chart directly too.
