Harry Kane once volleyed a penalty à la Cristiano Ronaldo but it did not end well for the Tottenham striker.
Ronaldo caused a stir on Wednesday night when he scored from a bouncing spot-kick during Real Madrid’s 3-1 Champions League victory over PSG.
The Real icon slammed his left foot into the ground so forcefully that the ball bounced up off the spot and into the air before he fired past the goalkeeper.

But Tottenham star Kane’s effort, against Southampton last season, did not end like Ronaldo’s
Had the referee noticed the ball was moving when Ronaldo hit it, the goal would have been disallowed and the penalty retaken. But he didn’t and it wasn’t.
Ronaldo’s penalty technique — which former Manchester United team-mate Rio Ferdinand suggested was deliberate — was very unusual, but we have seen something similar before.

Unfortunately, Kane’s effort ballooned high over the crossbar, suggesting he had probably not intended to make the ball jump prior to kicking it.
Kane’s embarrassment was offset by the fact Tottenham cruised to a 4-1 win.
‘If there’s any NFL teams looking for a kicker in the future, have a look at my game,’ Kane, who scored from open play in the match, joked on Twitter later that day.
