Football legend Harry Redknapp has addressed the shock news that his son, Jamie, is expecting a baby with girlfriend of 18 months Frida Andersson.
The news came out over the weekend via exchanges between Frida and her followers on social media, and Harry, 74, weighed in on it during a TalkRadio interview with Julia Hartley-Brewer on Tuesday.
‘Yeah I’m really pleased, it’s good news. So looking forward to that and it’s exciting times,’ the grandfather-of-five, soon to be six, said. ‘I enjoy spending time with the grandkids, I love it, I really do.

‘Going to watch them play football and sport… I love being there and turning up and watching the kids and taking them to football on Saturday.’
The baby will be 47-year-old Jamie’s third child – he already shares sons Charley, 16, and Beau, 12, with ex-wife Louise Redknapp.
Frida, 37, has four children from her former marriage to multi-millionaire American hedge fund tycoon Jonathan Lourie.

Harry has been married to wife Sandra since 1967 and shares with her their other son, Mark.
Harry and Sandra have three other grandchildren from son Mark’s marriage. They are Joe, 20, Emilie, 17, and Harry, 14 – although Joe and Emilie are technically Mark’s step-children and Harry and Sandra’s step-grandchildren.
Jamie and Frida stepped out in low-key style on Tuesday, in the wake of the news that they are set to be parents nine months after confirming their relationship.

While they are yet to publicly announce the pregnancy, Frida responded to a series of congratulatory messages on Sunday evening after sharing a picture of one of her sons, confirming the news.
After one posted ‘Lovely news on your new baby. Congratulations to both,’ the model promptly replied with a thank-you emoji. She repeated the gesture with as second post, which read: ‘Congratulations on your new baby.’
The couple, who have been linked since August, are said to be ecstatic and the baby is reportedly due in November.

A source told The Sun: ‘Jamie and Frida are absolutely delighted. They’ve been virtually inseparable in lockdown, and their relationship has gone from strength to strength.
‘Jamie’s been telling pals he’s really excited to be a dad again — less excited about the sleepless nights, and nappy-changing.’
They added that the couple have started telling their ‘nearest and dearest’ about their reported news in recent days.
