Leicester attacker Harvey Barnes is emerging as a late contender to gatecrash England’s Euro 2020 plans.
Barnes has impressed during the Foxes’ excellent season, that looks set to culminate in them qualifying for the Champions League.
The 22-year-old’s performances have not gone unnoticed by Gareth Southgate, who is set to run the rule over the winger at Molineux on Friday night when Leicester face Wolverhampton.

Barnes faces stiff competition, with Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Nathan Redmond all battling it out to be Southgate’s wide men this summer.
But he is certainly under consideration by Southgate ahead of March’s internationals against Italy and Denmark, particularly with Rashford set to miss out with a back problem.
Southgate is finalising his plans for Euro 2020, where England will be one of the tournament favourites.
Liverpool duo Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are staking their claim to be starters during the tournament after impressing Southgate during their breathtaking season.
Danny Ings and Dele Alli are pushing for recalls next month while Jack Grealish is hopeful of his first senior call-up.
Gareth Southgate has been impressed by Barnes and will watch him in person on Friday
