Over the past few months, David has rocked several different hairstyles and last year the father-of-four sported much longer locks and was often spotted wearing different beanie hats.

While the sporting legend went on to cut his locks into a much shorter hairdo, with the sides shaved off and the top strands styled into a quiff.

Yet more recently, David has been sporting a close-cropped look with a suspiciously straighter hairline, sparking the question, has he had a hair transplant?

If the reports are true, hair transplants are becoming more popular with several male celebrities bravely sharing their hair transformations.

David’s close friend, Gordon Ramsay, was famously spotted leaving a hair transplant clinic in Los Angeles in 2011, with a black surgical-style cap on his head.

But the TV chef claimed otherwise, blaming it on a run-in with illegal fishermen and an allergic reaction to horses. According to Metro, the chef said he was covered in petrol while filming illegal shark fin fishermen for a Channel 4 show.

‘I had petrol doused, gasoline poured all over my hair and I had a horrific infection,’ he claimed.

‘Then, I was in Napa for Christmas two weeks after the shoot and went riding with the kids, and had a horrendous allergic reaction to the horses, combined with the problems I had with my scalp, so it was just a hair nightmare,’ he said.
