Marcus Rashford appears to have confirmed England team-mate Jadon Sancho will join Manchester United in a £77million deal in the coming days.

United and Borussia Dortmund have been locked in negotiations over the winger for a second summer in a row but, as Sportsmail recently reported, are now close to reaching an agreement for the 21-year-old.

A deal is likely to be announced imminently with Dortmund, after refusing to budge on their £110m valuation last year, dropping the asking price and willing to accept a fee of £73m plus £4m in add-ons following several weeks of talks.

Rashford and Sancho are currently on international duty with England at Euro 2020 but both were unused substitutes during Tuesday night’s thrilling victory over Germany at Wembley.

However, Rashford was straight on social media after the game and seemingly dropped a huge hint that Sancho is on the cusp of completing a move to Old Trafford.

A United fan messaged Rashford directly, asking him to ‘announce Sancho’.

Rashford replied 13 minutes later with ‘Yes x’.

The pair are believed to be close friends and are currently locked in England’s Covid bubble for the duration of their Euros campaign.

Completing a deal for Sancho will end United’s lengthy pursuit of their No 1 transfer target.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will now switch United’s focus to their efforts to sign a new centre-back to partner Harry Maguire and central midfielder.

Sancho has struggled for game time with England so far this summer and has been given just six minutes of action as they finished top of Group D with seven points and beat Germany.

Despite an impressive season with Dortmund, Sancho is behind Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Rashford and Bukayo Saka in Southgate’s pecking order.

With Sancho once again watching on from the bench on Tuesday night, Dortmund team-mate Erling Haaland took to Twitter to call on Southgate to bring him on.

England played out a tense opening 45 minutes at Wembley and struggled to break down a resolute German defence. Haaland clearly thought Sancho could have added some extra creativity.

The forward simply tweeted: ‘Time to bring on Sancho…’
