Woman suffers serious facial burns after ‘acid’ was thrown in her face when three men in masks pulled up in front of her at a city restaurant

  • Woman left with serious facial burns after acid thrown onto her face in Sydney
  • The 32-year-old was waiting outside Old Town, in Haymarket, on Friday night
  • Black hatch pulled up in front of her and three masked men jumped out of car 

A woman has been left with serious facial burns after three masked men jumped out of a car and threw acid onto her while she was waiting outside a restaurant.

The 32-year-old woman was standing outside Old Town on Dixon Street in Haymarket, in Sydney, at 11pm on Friday.

A black hatch stopped in front of the woman before three masked men jumped out of the vehicle.

One of the men threw a substance, believed to be acid, onto the woman’s face.

The group then jumped back into the car and fled the scene.

The woman was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital to be treated for her injuries.

NSW Fire and Rescue hazmat crews were called to the scene. 

Police have established a crime scene and launched an investigation.
