Rio Ferdinand has cast doubt over Gabrel Magalhaes’ decision-making after slamming the Arsenal defender for making ‘mad, wild decisions’.
The 25-year-old was at fault for West Ham’s first goal in Sunday’s 2-2 draw that ensured Arsenal drop points in the Premier League title race for the second consecutive match.
Gabriel hacked Hammers midfielder Lucas Paqueta to the floor inside the box after Thomas Partey initially gave the ball away inside the Arsenal half.
Former United defender Ferdinand tore into Gabriel for showing a lack of calmness in the game that could have a huge result on the title race.
‘But rash… and I’ve said this about Gabriel a few times. He’s rash, he makes mad, wild decisions,’ Ferdinand said on his Vibe with Five YouTube show.

‘As a defender you’ve got to be calm. There’s no need for him to do what he did.
‘It was a rush of blood, he needs to eradicate that, get that out of his game quick.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta fumed after full-time at the London Stadium that his side lacked a ‘killer instinct’ after previously scoring twice in the game’s opening 10 minutes.

Ferdinand then further explained that Arteta will begin to question whether he can rely on the Brazilian during the closing stages of the season.
‘As a manager you don’t want to see that. Because those types of things ruin the head too many times, it starts becoming part of their make-up, and you’re going, ‘hold on, can I rely on this guy?’ added Ferdinand.
‘I think he’s had a fabulous season, Gabriel. But those types of decisions can be very costly, he’s in the run-in now.
‘That will hurt, the way they dropped points,’ he said.
