An Australian heath coach who is rating McDonalds menu items from all over the world has given one breakfast burger a rave review.

Bec Hardgrave, from Brisbane, is best known for recreating healthy versions of classic fast food dishes on her popular TikTok and Instagram and is currently travelling the world while comparing McDonalds in different countries.

She recently visited the fast food chain in New York and gave the American McGriddle sausage and egg burger at ’20 out of ten’.

In the third instalment of her ‘rating McDonalds around the world as an Aussie’ video series, Bec sampled the McGriddle which isn’t available in Australia.

The McGriddle has a sausage patty, cheese and egg between two maple syrup-flavoured pancake buns embossed with the take-away chain’s logo.

‘Oh my god I didn’t even know what this was until I opened it up and I realised it was almost like a pancake, I could smell maple syrup,’ she said in a clip posted to TikTok.

‘It was probably my favourite Maccas item to date. So good – 20 out of ten.’

The travelling nutritionist’s video racked up tens of thousands of views and dozens of comments from fans with their own international McDonalds opinions.

‘Was in New York over Christmas and New Years, had about five of these in the time I was there, was amazing and really annoying I can’t get them back in Melbourne,’ one Aussie wrote.

‘I do this when I travel, I try a big mac and something that is special to that area…best Maccas is still Tokyo, Japan, and the milk pies…like a custard pie but so much better,’ a second said.

‘Definitely need it in Australia…it was the first thing I had to have at Maccas in NY when I was there a couple of weeks ago,’ a third commented.

In another video, Bec detailed her McDonalds visit in Ireland where she had sugar-free lemonade, mozzarella dippers, chips with sweet curry sauce as well as a vegan burger she said gave a ten out of ten.

‘It was so good. I gave the rest of mine to Tim and he didn’t even realise it was vegan until the very end and he was very impressed,’ she said referring to her boyfriend and travel companion.

Bec also compared the UK McDonalds menu to Australia with some some shocking comparisons – along with a British treat that did not impress her.

She steered clear of the ‘under 400 calorie’ menu and instead tried the hotcakes and the breakfast roll.

‘The hotcakes tasted like the pancakes you buy in a packet at the supermarket,’ Bec revealed. ‘They were quite hard to chew.’

‘I tried the breakfast roll next, but the bacon is so different here!’

She added, ‘It also had this great brown sauce I feel like we need to get on our menus in Australia.’
