Health scare for Tahlia Giumelli: NRL WAG reveals she’s getting a biopsy on a lump in her breast

NRL WAG and model Tahlia Giumelli revealed she had a health scare this week, but is getting further tests and scans with doctors to keep on top of things. 

Tahlia, 30, revealed on Wednesday that she is getting biopsy on a lump in her breast as doctors want to make sure she is okay. 

The mother of two said doctors believe it is ‘nothing of concern,’ but want to double check. 

Tahlia, who is married to Rabbitohs star Tom Burgess, 31, shared a lengthy post on her Instagram stories from the doctors and urged her followers ‘not to be complacent when it comes to their health’.

‘This is your reminder to get a health check with your gp!’ Tahlia’s post began. 

‘Having an ultrasound/biopsy on a lump in my breast, while they are 99 per cent sure it’s nothing of concern they don’t want to be complacent and when it comes to your health you shouldn’t be.’

She added: ‘I wouldn’t have done a monthly check if it wasn’t for my walk with The Big Three Trek for McGrath Foundation and hearing everyone’s stories,’ she added. 

Whilst some breast lumps indicate a change in the breast tissue and are nothing to worry about, such as benign lumps, some lumps can indicate breast cancer.

It comes after Tahlia opened up earlier this month about suffering from mental health struggles in 2022. 

Tahlia shared the raw revelation to Instagram when a follower asked how she ‘copes with stress’.

Sharing a throwback photo of her rapid weight loss last year, the influencer confessed she was struggling so much with stress that she sought out a psychologist at the time.

‘July 2022 was a really stressful time for me and if I’m honest, I wasn’t coping,’ she said.

‘I was eating (I promise I was) but I was losing weight without trying and it was getting to a point even I thought was too much and I knew I needed help.’

The mum-of-two added that she was struggling with some ‘big decisions’ in her life at the time and ‘ended up seeking help with a psychologist’ to help develop ‘coping mechanisms’ to deal with it.

She ended her lengthy post with a cautionary message for her followers, warning that they only see the ‘highlights’ of someone’s life online and not the bad parts.

‘Getting help is not a bad thing and recognising you need help or asking for help is a huge step in the right direction,’ she finished.
